SERVICE · BRANDING & VISUAL IDENTITY · WINNIPEG

A recognisable identity, grounded in why you are worth choosing.

Branding at Digital8 gives your business a visual identity with a reason behind every decision: a logo, colour, typography and a cohesive system that work on your website, your documents and everything customers see. The identity work is developed in collaboration with Goldie Yudelevich at The Bridge Idea; Daniel coordinates the project and stays your single point of contact.

01 / WHAT IS INCLUDED

From discovery
to guidelines.

  • Brand discovery and creative direction. Goldie explores the ideas and values behind your business, the people you serve and what makes you worth choosing, then proposes a direction.
  • Logo design. A primary logo with the variations you need: horizontal and stacked versions, a mark for small spaces, colour and single-colour versions.
  • Colour palette and typography. Colours and typefaces chosen to work together on screen and in print, with the specifications your printer and your website need.
  • Visual assets. Marketing materials, social templates or packaging elements, defined by the scope of your project.
  • Brand guidelines. A concise brand kit that explains how to use the identity consistently, so it stays coherent long after the project.

Her practice includes traditional branding and The Canvas Experience, an art-led discovery process. We agree on the approach that fits your project before work begins.

02 / AN EXAMPLE

A brand refresh
that people remember.

Mugging Whales coffee packaging with a gold whale and coffee cup identity on a black bag
Mugging Whales Coffee, a brand refresh by Goldie Yudelevich, from The Bridge Idea’s portfolio.

For Mugging Whales Coffee, Goldie refreshed the brand’s visual presentation: a logo refresh, marketing materials and a brand kit that brought a more cohesive identity to the packaging and everything around it. The client, Heather Klassen, noted that the brand kit “has also been extremely helpful”, which is the point of guidelines: the identity keeps working when the designer is not in the room.

GroupDeck, the group travel software Digital8 built, is a shared example of our two disciplines working together. Goldie created its visual identity; Daniel designed and developed the product.

03 / HOW IT WORKS

One conversation,
two disciplines.

  1. 01 / DISCOVER

    Understand the business.

We discuss your audience, what you offer and where the brand will live. Then we agree on the branding deliverables and whether a website or system is part of the scope.

  2. 02 / DIRECTION

    Choose a direction.

Goldie develops the creative direction. Your references and feedback guide the decisions before the identity is refined.

  3. 03 / IDENTITY

    Build the system.

Logo variations, colour, typography and assets are finalised and documented in your brand guidelines.

  4. 04 / APPLY

    Put it to work.

If the project includes a website, Daniel applies the identity to the design and development. Otherwise you receive the files and guidelines to use anywhere.

Every proposal defines deliverables, responsibilities, timeline and ongoing costs before work begins. Goldie’s contribution is defined in the agreed scope and credited to The Bridge Idea.

04 / BEFORE WE START

Good questions.
Clear answers.

Can I book branding without a website?

Yes. Branding can be scoped on its own or combined with a website or a custom system. Deliverables and responsibilities are agreed before work starts.

Who does the branding work?

Goldie Yudelevich at The Bridge Idea develops the identity. Daniel Plotnik at Digital8 coordinates the project and remains your single point of contact. Goldie’s contribution is defined in the scope and credited to The Bridge Idea.

What do I receive at the end?

The agreed deliverables, typically logo files in the formats you need, colour and typography specifications, visual assets and brand guidelines that explain how to use them.

I already have a logo. Can you refresh it instead of starting over?

Often, yes. A refresh keeps what people recognise and brings the rest into line, as with Mugging Whales Coffee. We recommend a refresh or a new identity after looking at what you have and where the business is going.
